Dear friends,
Have you ever thought about the significance of a container?
At a fundamental level, a container is a basic structure.
A container is needed for just about everything of significance. For example, if we get thirsty, what do we do first?
That's right, we look for a glass (container) so we have something in which to put the water so that we can drink the water.
If we are cooking, we first need a container in which to cook the food (pots & pans), and also a container where the food can be placed before consumption (plates & bowls).
On a bit of a larger scale, if we have a family we need a physical dwelling (apartment or house) to be the container where the family can coexist and grow together.
If we want to travel, we use containers for transportation such as cars, planes, trains, etc...
In nature, rivers and pools are containers created by the existence of river banks and walls that hold the water in a certain location so it can be contained and flow. It's precisely because of these river banks and walls that we can swim and explore the depths of life in those waters.
Without a container, that which is inside the container dissipates and flows away.
Containers also exist in more of a metaphysical dimension as well. For example two people can experience a deep connection, but without some form of a relational container (friendship / partnership), the love / friendship can't develop or flourish.
Our bodies and minds also serve as a biological container for our life and being. I could go on and on, but I think you get the point.
As a life coach, I often tell people that the reason my clients experience transformation is because of the coaching container that is established through the coaching process.
The coaching container is made up of a fundamental energetic structure that allows information and life energies to be contained and transmitted in a consistent, safe. and manageable way over time for the purpose of healing and liberation. Without this structural container, the transformation process cannot unfold and the knowledge cannot become integrated beyond a mental conceptual nature.
If information alone was enough to facilitate transformation, our world would have already transformed because never before have we had access to vast sums of information due to the information age in which we are living.
Trying to experience transformation simply through information gathering is like trying to drink water without a glass. It doesn't work very well and it gets messy.
A container is necessary for life to be received and given in a sustainable way.
Do you have a transformational container?
